Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1489211A2] A double pile face-to-face fabric for eventual separation into an upper (WO) and lower (WU) fabric is woven with two weft insertion planes for the forward (SJ) and return (SR) weft. The weft pattern has a repeat (RS) of at least four picks while the chain warp (B) has a repeat (RB1) of eight picks. All pattern pile yarn is held by the outer return weft (RS). The dead pile (PT) is held between the outer return weft (RS) and the inner forward weft (SJ). The chain warp threads can be arranged in pairs displaced by two picks, with a pair covering two adjacent outer wefts (SR) and then together the inner weft (SJ). Alternative repeat cycles for the weft and chain warp can also be used.
