Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1489231A2] The device consists of an artificial rail groove set into a surface (9) to be crossed. It consists of/contains a slide plane, which is lowered into the surface. The plane is formed from several slide elements (4), which can be turned or tipped, and have varying sliding characteristics. Each element has sections with different surface characteristics. The elements may be formed by rollers with different rolling resistance, which is varied using angular contact ball bearings, press rings, tapered rings, or centrifugal brakes. The width of each element is smaller than the width of skis (7) traveling across it. The surface of the slide plane has a slide-blocking plastic surface, and it contains tubes (3) for a surface heater.
