Abstract (en)

A backflow seal (10), and in particular a seal which can be inserted into the pan (26) of a toilet to seal the pan and seek to prevent the backflow of liquid therefrom. The backflow seal (10) comprises a cover member (12) adapted to cover a part of the pan (26) of a toilet and a seal member (14) adapted to seal the gap between the cover member and the edge of the pan.
