[origin: EP1489258A1] The horizontal blind (10), for a window or door, has an upper (12) and a lower (13) rail, with a number of slats (11) between them. The upper and lower rails move vertically with a free adjustment through end units (21) on side cords, secured to the four corners of the window/door. At least one spring mechanism (24) is fitted to a rail, independently of their position. The side units for the blind rails allow the cords through and also apply a friction lock on them.
