Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1489882A2] The hearing aid has a microphone system (1A-1C), a signal processing unit (9) and an output transducer (10), whereby the microphone system contains at least two microphones from which microphone signals (R0-R2) emanate and that have directional characteristics of different order. The method involves carrying out a signal analysis on at least one microphone signal to determine signal characteristics at defined frequencies or in defined frequency bands and differently weighting the signals output from the microphone units with different directional characteristic depending on the results of the signal analysis and the frequency of the microphone signal. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a hearing aid for implementing the inventive method.
