Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03082612A1] The invention relates to a tyre self-sealing device for the wheel of a vehicle which is equipped with a tyre inflating and deflating valve, ensuring a supply of compressed air by means of a pressurised circuit. The aforementioned valve (12) is disposed between the wheel (2) and the hub (5) of the wheel. Moreover, the invention comprises a sealing means (19) which is built into the wheel supply circuit, said means (19) being in the open position in the presence of the valve and in the closed position in the absence of the valve. The sealing means (19) comprises a finger (30) which extends into a truncated cone-shaped part (31) that moves under the action of a spring (32) inside a bore (18) in the wheel supply circuit. Said truncated cone-shaped part (31) can be applied against a seat (33) having a truncated cone-shaped profile under the action of the spring in order to close the wheel supply circuit.
