Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03085297A1] A control valve (400) includes an elastomeric flow tube and an actuator.(122). A plunger is operatively connected the actuator and is situated adjacent the flow tube. A reference surface is positioned generally opposite the plunger such that the elastomeric tube is squeezable between the plunger and the reference surface to control fluid flow through the flow tube. A pressure containing member (430) surrounds at least a portion of the flow tube. The pressure containing member may comprise, for example, a braided sleeve, rings situated about the flow tube, or first (431) and second (432) pressure retaining members sandwiched about the flow tube.
