[origin: EP1491292A1] A hand-held electrically-powered surface grinding, polishing or sanding machine has a drive spindle to a circular drive head with an outer thread. The outer thread engages with a matching thread at the core of a detachable sanding disc. The head thread (16) is sub-divided into three separated radial sectors. The ratio of the core thread diameter to that of the disc is 0.25 or more.
