To give a printed image, with a freely programmable design for a visual effect, an ink is printed on the surface at least partially which contains at least one component which gives a variable appearance according to temperature. The printing is heated, at least locally, to give the required visual effect. The variable component is of liquid crystals.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Bedrucken einer Oberfläche eines Bedruckstoffes mit einem Auftragsmittel zur Erzeugung eines frei programmierbaren Druckbildes, insbesondere eines optischen Effektes, bei dem in einem ersten Schritt durch ein Druckverfahren ein Auftragsmittel mit wenigstens einer temperaturabhängigen optisch variablen Komponente auf einen Bedruckstoff zumindest teilweise aufgetragen wird und in einem zweiten Schritt zur Erzeugung wenigstens eines Druckbildes, insbesondere eines optischen Effekts der Bedruckstoff, insbesondere die bedruckte Oberfläche des Bedruckstoffes, zumindest lokal einer Temperaturbehandlung unterzogen wird. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin ein Druckerzeugnis mit einem darauf aufgetragenen Auftragsmittel, bei dem das Auftragsmittel wenigstens eine temperaturabhängige optisch variable Komponente, insbesondere Flüssigkristalle aufweist zur Erzeugung eines variablen Druckbildes, insbesondere wenigstens eines optischen Effektes.
