Abstract (en)

The method involves generating a normal structure part image representing normal structure of a predetermined structure part e.g. rib, of an object e.g. chest, image. A structure-removed image, which is an image obtained by removing the structure part from the object image, is artificially generated by an image operation between the image of the object and the normal structure part image. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an image processing apparatus (b) a computer-readable medium on which a computer program is recorded which causes a computer to execute an image processing method.
