Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03072819A2] The invention relates to a method for analysing nucleic acid fragments, said method comprising the following steps: a) at least one mixture of nucleic acid fragments is prepared, said mixture having at least one recognition site for a restriction endonuclease cutting outside its recognition site, b) at least part of the mixture of nucleic acid fragments from step (a) is incubated with at least one restriction endonuclease having a cutting site outside its recognition site, and c) at least one nucleotide of the cut nucleic acid fragments from step (b) is identified, and optionally other fragment-specific characteristics of the cut nucleic acid fragments from step (b) are identified, said identification steps being simultaneously carried out for a plurality, or all, of the nucleic acid fragments.
