Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03085463A1] The invention relates to an electric motor-operated drive device comprising an initial fault safety system for furniture, particularly for hospital and nursing beds, consisting of a power supply (10, 11), at least one motor (19, 20), a power-switching unit (17), at least one manual control (5), a control box (6) and of a controller (1) provided with a monitoring block (2). In the event of an initial fault, said monitoring block (2) carries out appropriate measures for preventing the drive device from moving on its own, composes corresponding fault messages and sends signals to higher-level monitoring devices, optionally initiates emergency calls and comprises a testing device (47) for testing the fault notification and recognition system.
