[origin: WO03085546A1] The invention relates to a method for the electromagnetic modification of cerebral activity in order to reach a pre-determined behaviour target, using a behaviour model which describes the correlation between behaviour and the course of cerebral activity characteristics, and a cerebral activity model which quantitatively describes cerebral activity. The cerebral activity characteristics and the courses thereof can be derived from the quantitative description of the cerebral activity. According to the inventive method, the nominal course of given cerebral activity characteristics which corresponds to the achievement of the behaviour target is determined by means of the behaviour model, exogenous electrical and/or magnetic fields are produced, and electromagnetic cerebral activity is measured and cerebral activity characteristics are calculated in order to achieve the nominal course in a control or regulating circuit containing calculations with the cerebral model.
