[origin: WO03086011A1] The invention relates to a sound or ultrasound sensor that has an emission characteristic with a preferably small aperture angle and that generates as few noise signals as possible. Said sensor comprises a housing (1), closed off in the shape of a pot by a bottom (3), a piezoelectric element (5) for generating and/or receiving sound or ultrasound through the bottom (3), an adaptation layer (7) between the piezoelectric element (5) and the bottom (3), and a metal ring (9) that encloses the adaptation layer (7) in a form fit.
