[origin: EP1493699A1] The method for the threading of especially a paper or cardboard web (5) into a roll winding device (1) involves cutting a point (8) before threading the web into the nip (6). The web is released from the winding roll after exceeding the apex point. An adhesive is applied to the web and the web is glued to the periphery of the winding roller (4). The adhesive is applied before the passing through of the nip. An independent claim is included for the roll winding device for the winding up of a web of especially paper or cardboard which has a fastening device installed beneath the winding roller, by which the point of the web is connected to the periphery of the winding roller.
