Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1496217A1] A two-stroke turbocharged internal combustion engine has 14 cylinders in a single row and a scavenge air system with at least one elongated scavenge air receiver. The engine has a firing sequence (n1 - n14) of the engine cylinders C1-C14, so that at least the following four requirements a) to d) are met : for the 4<th> order gas pulsation <MATH> for the 5<th> order gas pulsation <MATH> for the 6<th> order gas pulsation <MATH> for the 7<th> order gas pulsation <MATH> where n is the cylinder number, ϕn is the firing angle for the cylinder n, F(n) is a weighting function linearly interpolated with respect to the position of the cylinder between F(1) = 1 at cylinder C1 and F(14) = -1 at cylinder C14, and PARALLEL identifies the length of the vector. <IMAGE>
