[origin: EP1496257A2] The screw spindle pump has a drive spindle flanked by working spindles (30), whereby the turns (13,33) of the spindles are in contact. The spindles are provided at least partially with an elastic coating (40) which may consist of an elastomer or may be vulcanized on. The elastic coating is provided outside the pump casing on the suction side end of the spindles. The elastic coating may be constructed in cup form and fitted onto the end of the spindle.
