[origin: WO03086819A1] The aim of the invention is to create a motor vehicle communications device, which eliminates the drawbacks associated with the accommodation of aforementioned units according to the prior art, and which offers a simple and aesthetically appealing solution that can be functionally enhanced with regard to the individual functions of the units. To this end, the invention provides that a hands-free device for a mobile telephone (2) and a vehicle navigation device (1) are combined to form a communications system, whereby one area of the housing of the vehicle navigation device (1) is configured for accommodating a mobile telephone (2) with positive engagement. Said vehicle navigation device comprises a plug-in connector (4) that, when inserting the mobile telephone (2), establishes at least one connection to the amplifier and loudspeaker and, if required, to the supply voltage and/or to an antenna and/or to a data bus of the vehicle navigation device and/or enables an automatic connection of the navigation device (1) to the radio telephone network (2) via the mobile telephone.
