[origin: WO03058131A1] The aim of the invention is to improve a building having an interior which is large in terms of height, in such a way that that the interior of said building can be air conditioned using as little energy as possible. To this end, the interior of the building (12) is provided with an intermediate layer (14) dividing said interior (12) into two areas (15, 16) which are essentially vertically arranged one above the other, the lower area (15) being air conditioned, abut not the upper area (16). The invention also relates to a method for air conditioning a building (11) having a large interior (12) in terms of height, said method being characterised in that a first, lower area is created in the interior (12) of the building, said first, lower area (15) being upwardly sealed by means of a dividing layer (14), thus forming a second upper area (16). Only the first, lower area (15) is air conditioned.
