Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03093621A1] A sectional door comprises a number of closing elements, which can pivot relative to one another about horizontal axes and which are guided inside a runner rail system by means of laterally mounted rollers. The runner rail system comprises, on each side of the sectional door, a first runner rail for guiding a top roller of an uppermost closing element and comprises a second runner rail for guiding the remaining rollers. The second runner rail has a vertical section, a horizontal section and a curved section that connects the vertical section to the horizontal section. According to the invention, the first runner rail is provided in the form of a short rail, which extends above the second runner rail only in the area of the curved section and of the vertical section of the second runner rail. A guide device for the uppermost closing element is provided in the area of the curved section of the second runner rail thereby causing the top roller of the uppermost closing element to engage in the short rail when the sectional door is being closed.
