Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03092246A2] The invention relates to a method of transforming an analogue radiotelephone from analogue operating mode into digital operating mode and vice versa owing to the fact that send (11) and receive (12) vocoders may or may not be activated manually or automatically depending on whether the radiotelephone is operating in an analogue or digital network respectively. For this purpose, the invention involves the use of a single emitter modulator (3) which is compatible with both digital signals and analogue signals and a single reception demodulator (8) which is compatible with both digital signals and analogue signals.
