[origin: EP1500412A1] Device for fighting fires in a motor vehicle, especially a utility vehicle, comprises an extinguishing fluid, a pressure source, and a spray device (8). The extinguishing pressure source is produced by compressed air (D) in one or more air reservoirs in the vehicle that are used for operation of the vehicle. In the event of a fire in the vehicle, the extinguishing fluid is loaded with a feed pressure generated by the compressed air. Preferred Features: The extinguishing fluid is formed by the engine coolant.
