Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1500504A2] A system for color printing onto flat panels, e.g. wooden effect panels, has the panels (4) moved through the separate color print stages on a horizontal feed (7). Each print stage is preceded by a sensor (8) which monitors the leading edge of the panels or checks print markings. The process control modulates the transport feed and/or the drives for the print rollers, to ensure accurate overlay for the separate print colors. The panels are transported separately and each print stage comprises a print roller (5), a print transfer roller (1) and a pressure roller (2), with the latter supporting the underside of the panels.
