Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1500798A1] The silencer (10) for a motor vehicle exhaust has a housing (12), with the exhaust pipe (18) through it. The housing has a resonator (26) and an acoustic absorber (32) with a flow link between them and the exhaust pipe through slits (42). The resonator has a tubular resonance body (24) around the exhaust pipe, with a gap between them, and the sound absorber is inserted at least partially into its open end.
