Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1500902A1] A missile (1), which is rotated in flight by the rifled surface of its launcher and carries an explosive (13) set off by a primer (3) and striker (2), incorporates a self-destruct device (4) to ensure that it explodes automatically if it misses its target. The device has at least two locks (9) that hold the striker in the stand-by position and are actuated by the centrifugal forces of the rotating missile, releasing the striker when the rotational speed drops on impact with a target or a certain time after missing it.
