Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03092439A1] The invention relates to a seat comprising rigid panels and a flexible casing, which is designed to be easily assembled and disassembled by the user. For this purpose, the invention comprises numerous panels (3) which define the profile thereof and which are held side-by-side at a distance from one another by means of cross pieces (4), the transverse edges of said cross pieces taking the form of a comb (5) and co-operating with slits (6) in the panels (3). Each of the aforementioned cross pieces (4) consists of flexible but naturally-resistant blanks. According to the invention, the above-mentioned slits (6) in the panels (3) are arranged successively at a distance from one another on either side of a turning point (11) in the profile of the panels (3), such that the cross pieces (4) are placed under stress when the piece of furniture is being assembled in order to fit the profile thereof. The invention is suitable for small pieces of furniture, such as a seat, arm chair, table, shelves or any other similar small item.
