Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2838887A1] The system for adjusting the position of a seat (S) includes, for each adjustment, a speed sensor (D1, Dm). The speed sensor controls the operation of the actuator, whilst the power delivered to the actuator is controlled, according to the total power available. The system for adjusting the position of a seat or set of seats (S) includes a number of actuators (A1, A2 Am), each comprising a speed sensor (D1, Dm). The speed sensor controls the operation of the actuator, whilst the actuator also receives a reference speed, and controls the power used by the actuator in moving the seat position. A common power supply (10) is used to operate all seat adjusting actuators, and a control system (12) determines the power to be delivered to actuators, as a function of the total power available, in order to keep each actuator operating within its maximum power limits. The thresholds for speed at which seats may be adjusted vary for different types of seats.
