[origin: WO03095723A1] The invention relates to a drafting assembly (1) for a ring spinning frame for producing thread. Said drafting assembly (1) comprises a drafting region (7, 10) and a compressor component (11) having a geometric-mechanical effect and a compression channel (12) for a drafted and enlarged fibre band (F). Said compressor component (11) is arranged in a compression region (16) which extends between an output roller (8) of the drafting region (7,10) and a delivery roller (15) which is mounted at the exit of the compressor region (16). Transport means are provided for supporting the fibre band (F) along its transport path (A, B) through the compressor region (16).
