[origin: EP1503084A1] The fan arrangement (10) has a rotor with a semicircular-section circular groove near its periphery, containing radial vanes. There is a semicircular-section circular groove (14) in the fixed fan housing (12), cooperating with the groove in the rotor to make a circular-section channel. There may be a single barrier in a region (30) between the air inlet (34) and the air outlet (26). A pressure relief channel (36) runs from an intake (38) near the outlet to an outlet (40) near the inlet.
