Thermographic- or visual image of the measurement location is produced. This is broken down into a series of lighter or darker gray tones. These are compared with a standard grayscale having stepped brightness. When two gray tones coincide within a given critical band, action is taken. Handling of the ladle is discontinued, or an auxiliary program is started. An independent claim is included for corresponding test equipment.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein optisches und/oder thermisches Abtasten der Oberfläche einer Pfanne für flüssiges Metall, insbesondere für Stahlschmelze, unter Verwendung einer Prüfeinrichtung zur Feststellung des Zustandes der Ausmauerung zwecks rechtzeitiger Erkennung von stellenweisen kritischen Veränderungen. Zur sicheren Feststellung des Zustandes der Pfannenausmauerung wird ein thermographisches bzw. ein visuelles Bild der Abtaststelle erzeugt und dieses in jeweils eine Sequenz hellerer oder dunklerer Grautöne aufgelöst und mit einer Referenz-Sequenz von Grautönen mit vorgebbar abgestufter Helligkeit verglichen, und bei Koinzidenz zweier Grautöne innerhalb eines kritischen Bereichs das Handling der Pfanne unterbrochen und/oder ein Hilfsprogramm eingeschaltet. Die Erfindung betrifft auch eine entsprechende Prüfeinrichtung.
