[origin: EP1505203A1] A paper glazing or dewatering station has a broad nip (14) between a shoe (18) and a drum (12). The paper passes (L) through the nip in company with a flexible belt (20). The nip shoe is a segmented (26) and the radial segments move radially back and forth along a curved track (28) between operating and non-operating presentation positions. The inlet (22) and outlet (24) sides of the track (28) have hydrodynamic surfaces for the endless belt (20).
