Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2388526A] A handle assembly connected, or adapted for connection to a suction source of a suction cleaner comprises a first inlet 21, to which a wand 23 can be attached, a second inlet 44 which allows the handle itself to be used as a cleaning tool and a means 24 for blocking the first inlet 21 when the wand 23 is not attached, thus forming an air flow passage 12 from the second inlet 44 to the suction source. Blocking means are also preferably provided to block the second inlet 44 when the wand 23 is attached. The handle may also include a crevice tool 40 pivotable between a retracted position where it is stored in a cavity in the handle and a deployed position where it is attached to the second inlet 44 of the handle. Spring biasing means may also be provided to bias the crevice tool 40 to its deployed state with catch means being used to hold the crevice tool 40 in its retracted state.
