Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03080507A1] The invention relates to an ozone/oxygen ion/oxygen atom generator comprising a control circuit-controlled gas discharge module (2) for generating dielectrically hindered discharges with two electrodes (2A,2B), a dielectric and a discharge path subjected to an oxygen-containing atmosphere, wherein an alternating current or a pulsing direct current generated by a high voltage generator is applied to the electrodes at predetermined time intervals, whereby electrical discharges generating ozone/oxygen ion/oxygen atoms are provoked in the discharge path, in which, in average, a given individual amount (Mo) of ozone/oxygen ion/oxygen atoms is produced. The invention is characterized in that the number of electrical discharges per time unit is continuously determined and the ozone/oxygen ion/oxygen atom generator is controlled by means of the control circuit in a closed control circuit in accordance with a comparison with a set number of electrical discharges.
