Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03102252A1] The invention relates to a method for sintering materials containing iron oxide in a sintering machine. According to said method, a sinter mixture containing a solid fuel is ignited, gases containing oxygen are conducted through the sinter mixture and the hot final sinter product is cooled after discharge. One portion of the waste gas is returned to the sintering machine as recycled gas and the other portion of the waste gas is evacuated as residual gas. The division of the total waste gas quantity into recycled gas and residual gas is achieved by a variation of the process surface (sinter strand).
