[origin: EP1508373A2] Multi-purpose laboratory sample holder comprising an air bleed passage with one or more passages allowing for the flow of liquid, where the sample holder has several ring-shaped air bleed passages arranged in, e.g. a hexagonal array, is new. Multi-purpose laboratory sample holder comprising an air bleed passage with one or more passages allowing for the flow of liquid, where the sample holder has several ring-shaped air bleed passages arranged in, e.g. a hexagonal array. The sample feed is located centrally within the ring and crosses the ring-shaped air bleed passage. The liquid passage has an array of micro electronic components, e.g. PCR, sensors and pumps. The sample holder has several reaction chambers, each equally spaced from the air bleed passage.
