Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1508650A2] The element (1) has a face shell (3) comprising expanded glass. The glass is sintered expanded glass or contains expanded glass granules. The element comprises a support panel (2) and a face shell covering at least one side of the panel. The shell comprises a sound absorbing material. An independent claim is also included for the a noise barrier production method in which expanded glass panels are laid parallel and next to each other in a shuttering, concrete is poured into the shuttering and allowed to set and preferably vertical supports (7) are introduced before removing the barrier from the shuttering.
