[origin: EP1508750A2] The expansion compensation system has several cylindrical pressure bottles with vertical axes, mounted side-by-side. A neck (9) at the bottom of each individual bottle (4) is connected by a nut (5) to a side arm (3) of a water distribution line (2). A cylindrical membrane (8) with a rounded top end is filled with water and its interior space (6) is connected to the water distribution line. The annular space (7) between the membrane and the inside surface of the bottle is filled with gas under pressure. A gas distribution line (12) has a valve (13) and has side connections (11) to connection stubs (10) on the top of each bottle.
