[origin: WO03101555A1] Disclosed is a touring, Telemark, or cross-country binding for fastening a ski boot comprising a shaft and a sole. The inventive binding comprises a front holding element (12) which is assigned to the leading sole end, a rear holding element (15) which catches the front of the sole or the heel of the ski boot, and a tensioning device (19) which connects the front holding element to the rear holding element and by means of which the ski boot can be clamped between the front and rear holding element such that the heel thereof can be lifted in a free manner. The front holding element (12) is mounted so as to be pivotable relative to the binding (10, 11) or the ski as well as relative to the rear holding element (15) around an axis (13) which runs perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the binding or sole and approximately parallel to the tread of the sole.
