[origin: EP1510234A2] Support device (1) for supporting a tool, especially a rescue tool such as an expanding cylinder, on an object, especially a vehicle part, comprises a frame (2), and a unit arranged on the frame for fixing the support device on the object. The frame has an upper support claw (3) and a lower support claw (4) acting at an angle to the object. The frame and the upper and lower support claws form a C-shape. The upper and lower support claws are designed so that the holding effect on loading the support device is adjusted by tilting the two support claws relative to a part of the object arranged between the support claws.
