[origin: EP1511130A1] An electric contact element (ECE) (3) links a priming voltage output in a priming transformer to an internal power supply protruding from a discharge vessel and forms a modular unit with a plastic injection-molded part (21) of a lamp base that has two chambers. The ECE's first end extends into the first chamber. The ECE's second end (32) is accessible from the second chamber. An independent claim is also included for a high-pressure gas discharge lamp with a lamp base.
