Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03097908A1] The invention relates to a device and method for spinning and depositing a tow (15). To this end, one or more fiber bundles (7) are melt-spun by a spinning device and are drawn off by a drawing-off mechanism (2). The tow (15) is then deposited into a can (4) by means of a depositing device (3). In order to be able to exert the necessary drawing-off forces onto the tow (15), the tow (15) is guided by partial wrapping on the rollers (9, 10) of the drawing-off mechanism (2) and in an S-shaped guide path. In order to change the extent of wrapping on the rollers, in particular, for the spinning start-up and spreading of the tow (15), the invention provides that some of the rollers (10) of the drawing-off mechanism (2) are displaceably mounted on the machine frame (12) thereby enabling the guide path of the tow (15) to be altered.
