[origin: WO03100950A1] Disclosed is an electric motor driven actuator comprising an electronically switchable direct-current synchronous motor (10) and a device working with position sensors for contactless detection of the position of the rotor (14) of the motor (10). The inventive actuator is especially suitable for directly driving the final control element (34) of a valve arrangement (32) in a motor vehicle, preferably in an engine cooling circuit or as a throttle valve. High positional accuracy is obtained by virtue of the fact that the position sensors (22) are spatially associated with a magnetic field device (18) for the magnetic field of the rotor (24).
