Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1512489A1] A gas turbine engine has a series of turbine blades (31) consisting of a root (33) linked by the main body of the blade (35) to the tip (37). The blade has a leading edge (39) and a trailing edge (41). The trailing edge near-root zone incorporates a series of thermal-stress relief slits (51) that are at right angles to the trailing edge. Each slit terminates in a rounded pocket (53).
