[origin: WO03101716A1] The invention relates to a device for compacting waste which is disposed in containers (3) that are open at the top (4) thereof. The inventive device (1) comprises a compactor roller (5) which is pivot-mounted to one end (6) of a handling arm (7), the other end (8) of said arm being mounted to a support frame (9), for example, in a collapsible manner. The device is characterised in that at least one of the transverse ends (10) of the support frame (9) comprises anchoring means (12) which can co-operate with a lift and load hook (13) of a container transport vehicle (14).
