Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2388409A] A seal 1 for a bearing 9 comprises an annular body portion 3 having inner and outer peripheral surfaces, with a resilient projection or lip 5 extending from the outer peripheral surface. The seal is arranged to be a snap-fit within an annular recess 13 of the bearing 9. The resilient lip 5 is elastically deformed when inserted into the annular recess 13 and is thus retained therein. The bearing also includes a retention lip 15 adjacent to the recess 13 which the resilient lip 5 of the seal 1 abuts during removal of the seal 1 which increases the force required to remove the seal.
