[origin: WO2004001482A1] The invention relates to a holographic display system for vehicles, especially for motor vehicles, comprising a projection unit (2) and a holographic beam combiner. Said projection unit comprises a light source for emitting a light signal and a controllable image-producing unit which is illuminated by the light source. Said image-producing unit can be used to modulate image data onto the light signal and the modulated light signal can be directed towards the holographic beam combiner. The inventive system is characterised by the fact that at least one observation mirror (4) is provided in and/or on the vehicle and is used to direct light radiated from the holographic beam combiner into the optical perception region of a user.
