Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1514600A1] A mechanical piston pipette comprises a pipette body, a piston/cylinder assembly and a tip ejector device. The pipette body accommodates an ejection actuation device and a piston actuation device effecting given longitudinal translational travel between a low limit stop position and a high limit stop position, with a travel modifying mechanism, pipetted volume adjustment mechanism and pipetted volume display mechanism. A mechanical piston pipette comprises a pipette body, a piston/cylinder assembly and a tip ejector device. The cylinder is arranged to be able to be equipped with a replaceable tip. The tip ejector device is movable along the cylinder to eject a tip from the end of the cylinder. The pipette body accommodates an ejection actuation device and a piston actuation device effecting given longitudinal translational travel between a low limit stop position and a high limit stop position in order to perform the aspiration of an adjustable volume of liquid, with travel modifying mechanism, pipetted volume adjustment mechanism, pipetted volume display mechanism, and calibration mechanism. The adjustment mechanism, display mechanism and calibration mechanism cooperate as an adjustment and calibration device in which, during a calibration operation, the display mechanism is regulated to make the displayed volume equate with the pipetted real volume. The adjustment and calibration device is housed inside the pipette body.
