Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1514640A2] The machine has a tool carrier (1) has a drive roller (4) over which the support band (8) can pass. The grinding band (2) lies on the outside surface of the support band. There is a separate tensioning rollers (5) for the grinding band and (9) for the backing or support band with spring-loaded supports (10). The band passes over two fixed guide rollers (7) on either side of the workpiece (3). The cylindrical workpiece rotates about its axis (A) while the moving grinding band moves over a wide arc of engagement (alpha).
