[origin: WO2004002256A1] Disclosed is a seatbelt buckle, particularly for motor vehicles, comprising a housing and a key which actuates a locking mechanism for a locking tongue that can be plugged into said housing, the locking mechanism being disposed in the housing. Said key is provided with an illuminating device. The inventive seatbelt buckle is characterized by the fact that the visible face of the key (13) is provided with an electrically triggered luminous film (22) while the electricity required for feeding the luminous film (22) is transmitted in a contactless manner from a power source (25) which is arranged on a stationary part of the buckle (10) to the luminous film (22) by bridging an air gap.
