Abstract (en)

[origin: DE10228395C1] The acoustic insulation, to absorb noise and especially in motor vehicles, has a shaped body (1) of a thermoplastic material and at least one further component (2) which defines a hollow zone (7) with the body. The second component is a heavy layer, a nonwoven and/or an acoustic textile fabric. A number of pins or spikes at the body project into the hollow zone to form spacers (4) against the second part. The outer surface of the body has a number of depressions (6), each extending into a spacer. The body is shaped by deep drawing a thermoplastic film, with a mounting flange (3) around it, to give a cassette structure..
